LMP calculator

Pregnancy Due DateCalculator

This LMP calculator estimates your pregnancy due date, week, trimester and period of gestation (POG) from your last menstrual period, IVF transfer date or ultrasound scan dating.

The LMP date calculator uses your last period and average cycle length. The IVF pregnancy calculator supports day 3, day 5 and day 6 embryo transfers. Ultrasound dating uses gestational age in weeks and days. Results are an estimate only. Your doctor may revise the due date after a scan or based on your clinical history.

Calculate your due date from your LMP date

Choose the date you know best. Use your LMP (last menstrual period) date for regular cycles, or an IVF transfer or ultrasound date for a more relevant estimate after fertility treatment.

Calculation method
Enter your LMP date to see your estimated due date, pregnancy week and POG.

Guide

Which date should you use: LMP, IVF transfer or ultrasound?

1

Use the LMP calculator if your cycles are regular

If you know the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP) and your cycles are fairly regular, LMP dating is the simplest starting point. The LMP calculator counts 280 days, or 40 weeks, from that date and adjusts for cycles longer or shorter than 28 days.

2

Use the IVF pregnancy calculator after embryo transfer

For IVF pregnancies, the embryo transfer date and embryo age usually give a more relevant estimate than cycle length. This IVF due date calculator adjusts for day 3, day 5 and day 6 transfers and shows your pregnancy week by week.

3

Use ultrasound dating when your scan gives gestational age

If a scan report gives gestational age in weeks and days, ultrasound dating aligns the timeline with your doctor's clinical dating, useful ahead of an NT scan or when your LMP date is uncertain.

What the LMP calculator estimates

Due date, current pregnancy age in weeks and days (POG / gestational age), trimester, likely conception date and estimated LMP date.

What can shift results

Irregular cycles, an uncertain last LMP date, scan findings and clinical history can all change dating decisions.

When to ask a doctor

Ask your doctor if you have pain, bleeding, fertility treatment history, or uncertainty about dates.

LMP calculator FAQs

  • An LMP calculator adds 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period to estimate your due date, then adjusts for your average cycle length. Pluro's LMP date calculator also returns your current pregnancy week, POG and trimester.

  • Period of gestation (POG) is counted from the first day of your LMP, not from conception. Enter your LMP date above and this POG calculator by LMP returns your gestational age in weeks and days, the same format your scan report uses.

  • After fertility treatment the embryo transfer date and embryo age are both known, so an IVF due date calculator does not have to assume a 28-day cycle. Select IVF transfer above, then day 3, day 5 or day 6, to see your pregnancy week by week.

  • No. It is an estimate. Your doctor may revise the date after ultrasound dating, especially if your cycles are irregular or your LMP date is uncertain. If you conceived through fertility treatment, ask your Pluro clinic when to schedule your first scan and NT scan follow-up.
